The Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD) is a specialized filter designed for both solid-liquid separation and drying in one enclosed unit. It operates under pressure and vacuum at different stages of the separation process, enhancing efficiency. The agitator, rotates and moves up and down to ensure thorough mixing, filtration, and drying. This movement also enables optimal cake washing and drying.
The system's closed design allows filtration under pressure or vacuum, while the agitator's curved blades ensure smooth solid discharge and re-slurry operations. A filter plate at the base is fitted with a replaceable filter cloth or multilayered sintered plate. This filter holds the solids on top of it, which can be dried and removed from the outlet port.
Our ANFDs are available in SS316/SS316L/Hastelloy®, and are extensively used in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agrochemicals, and food processing, where maintaining product purity is critical.

The slurry is charged into the ANFD, either through gravity from an overhead reactor or via a slurry pump.
The slurry enters the filter, & liquid passes through the filter cloth by gravity. The agitator rotates to prevent sediment buildup and is pressurized for faster filtration.
After filtration, wash liquid is sprayed onto the cake. The agitator stirs the slurry gently to ensure optimal cleaning.
Agitator blades smooth and compress the cake to remove moisture, reducing the need for energy-intensive heating methods.
The cake is heated via the jacket and agitator. Vacuum and hot gas help remove moisture efficiently.
The stirrer blades cut through the cake. As the discharge valve opens, the cake is discharged in a controlled manner.
