Hastelloy© Powder Sintered Filtration Solutions

Hastelloy powder sintered filters are made from Hastelloy material through a high-pressure compaction process. Hastelloy filters feature medium porosity (40-50%) and permeability, allowing high fluid flow while effectively capturing particles. They can be produced with filtration ratings as fine as 0.2 microns (nominal).

Hastelloy powdered sintered filters offer several key features

  • Supports backwashing with 100% removal of captured solids
  • Available in porosities from 150 microns to 0.5 microns
  • Offered in lengths of 10", 20", 30", and 40"
  • Pleated design option for increased filtration area and dirt-holding capacity
  • Maintains minimal pressure drop, even at high filtration velocities
  • Non-shedding design prevents particle release

Ideal for removing impurities from liquids and gas before they enter critical processing stages, ensuring cleaner downstream processes and protecting equipment. Efficiently captures valuable metal catalysts in chemical and pharmaceutical production, enabling easy recovery and reuse, which helps reduce material costs and minimize waste. Ensures clean, contaminant-free steam in the filtration process. Hastelloy powdered sintered filters used in various industrial processes, ensuring their purity and integrity while reducing contamination risks.

Sintering Process in Hastelloy Powder Sintered Filters

Hastelloy powder sintered filters are crafted through specialized sintering techniques that use the material’s exceptional resistance to chemical corrosion and high-temperature durability. The sintering process begins with carefully selected Hastelloy powder, which is subjected to either pressing sintering or unconsolidated powder sintering.

In pressing sintering, the Hastelloy powder is cold-pressed to form a “green body” with the desired density. This pre-formed structure of a hastelloy filter is then sintered in a protective gas or vacuum furnace at a temperature suitable for Hastelloy. This technique eliminates the need for molds or external forces, producing a stable and porous structure that ensures consistent filtration.

Alternatively, unconsolidated powder sintering involves filling the Hastelloy powder into molds, followed by vibration compacting to optimize density. The molds are then sintered in specialized furnaces using protective gas to avoid oxidation, producing a durable filter medium with precise porosity and mechanical strength.

Hastelloy powder sintered filters, available in various shapes such as discs and cylinders, provide depth-based filtration with a customizable pore structure. This adaptability is achieved by adjusting the powder particle size, shape, and distribution, allowing for accurate control of flow rate, strength, and porosity.
