Sintered metal powder filters are a powerful filtration solution made by bonding metal particles through a high-temperature process. These tough filters are made by fusing metal powder at high temperatures, creating a strong, porous structure. Sintered powder filters can handle both liquids and gases, making them suitable for various applications like filtration, flow control, and ventilation. They can also be used as flame arrestors and silencers. Compared to other filter materials, sintered filters boast superior mechanical strength and can withstand high pressure and continuous use as their thickness can be tailored easily.
The use of stainless steel, titanium, nickel-based alloy or intermetallic powder in their construction provides exceptional resistance to corrosive chemicals, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments. Cold isostatic pressing and sintering creates a highly porous and stable filter media. This translates to long-lasting performance and efficient filtration. These filter cartridges are simple to install and replace within their filter housing. Sintered filters can often be effectively cleaned or backwashed, extending their service life and reducing waste compared to disposable filter options. They are available in various materials, including 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy C-22/C276, amongst others.
